Growth plan for Nakie, 6 Oct 2026
Scale spend. Hold CAC.
Nakie already has 550,000+ customers behind it and a catalogue from hammocks to AFL club blankets. The plan turns that range into many cheap ad tests and holds one number: a target CAC of $68.64.

- Target CAC
- $68.64

10 chapters, then the gates and every number’s source.
01 The number
One number: $68.64 CAC on a $143 average order
The number to protect is a target CAC of $68.64. It is 0.6 of a $114.40 ceiling, built from a $143 average order, 40% margin and one repeat order. Those inputs are my guesses until Nakie's real order data replaces them in week one.
Protect
Target CAC: $68.64 on a first purchase
Ceiling = average order × margin × (1 + repeat orders): $143 × 40% × (1 + 1) = $114.40. Guard line = 0.6 × $114.40 = $68.64. Across the ranges: $1.73 to $534.45.
Three moves
- Kill any ad that spends past the guard line without a purchase signal, and do it early.
- Move budget only to winners that hold $68.64 across a full week of spend.
- Report daily CAC so nobody on Nakie's team has to ask what the number is.

02 Variety
Many concepts, since Nakie sells chairs, towels and cooler cups
Each ad concept has to carry one reason to buy and one product. A puffy blanket with a stated temperature rating of 5 degrees C sells differently from a sand-free towel or a camping chair, so every concept names its hook, its product and its offer.
| Reason to buy | Proof you already have | Ads (proposed) |
|---|---|---|
| Compact, easy-setup hammocks | Super compact, easy setup & built to last. | 5 |
| Colder cans, hot coffee | Fits cans and bottles perfectly, keeps drinks colder for longer | 4 |
| Sand-free, quick-dry towels | Large, sand-free, quick-dry and ultra absorbent. | 4 |
| Built for picnics | Large Family Size, Waterproof, Heavy Duty & Machine Washable. | 2 |
| Trusted by 550,000+ customers | Trusted by 550,000+ customers | 1 |
| Made to last for life | We don’t want our products to be disposable and we want you to love them for life. | 1 |
| Bundle deals | Save big with our bundle deals! | 1 |
| Total | The ad concepts tab | 18 |

Each row is a reason to buy that the brand already has proof for. The count is how many of the ads carry it: a reason with a single ad is a bet, not a pattern, and the next batch of concepts moves toward the reasons that win.
03 Disturbances
Seven risks, including a $50 versus $60 free-shipping split
| Disturbance | Likelihood | Impact | Owner | Gate (proposed) |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Two free-shipping thresholds ($50 and $60) confuse buyers and lift cost per order | High | Med | Your team | One threshold live on every page and ad before week one spend starts |
| Crossed-out price on Chair Couples Combo sits below its 395.89 AUD price and hurts trust | High | Med | Your team | Combo list price corrected or hidden before any ad sends traffic to it |
| Prices are in AUD but the home title says Brazil, so audience and currency may clash | Med | Med | Both | Ad geography, currency and landing copy match in the first test batch |
| Creators do not post on schedule, so videos stay below 14 a week in week two | Med | High | Me | Two creators live by week two, or I replace them within a week |
| Winning ads fade as spend rises, so CAC drifts above $68.64 | High | High | Me | Pause any ad whose seven-day CAC passes $68.64 once its spend doubles |
| Tracking misses bundle and repeat orders, so payback reads wrong | Med | High | Both | Event count matches store orders on a test purchase before week two |
| AFL club blankets and towels may carry rules on how club names appear in ads | Low | Med | Your team | Club-name usage rules confirmed in writing before any club ad runs |
Scores are my read from outside the company, re-scored in week one with your data. Each risk has one owner and one gate that can be checked with a number, so nobody has to argue about whether it happened.
04 The ceiling
The ceiling is $114.40, and Nakie's numbers will replace my guesses
| Line | Value | Status |
|---|---|---|
| Average order | $143 (range $3.29–$395.89) | Assumption Range from the site product prices (Published); the midpoint is a guess |
| Gross margin | 40% (range 35–45%) | Assumption Replace in week one |
| Repeat orders after the first | 1 (range 0.5–2) | Assumption Replace with cohort data in week one |
| Margin per customer, all orders | $114.40 | Calculated Average order × margin × (1 + repeat orders) |
| Guard line for CAC | $68.64 | Calculated 0.6 × the margin per customer |
The math, with the assumed lines
Ceiling = average order × margin × (1 + repeat orders): $143 × 40% × (1 + 1) = $114.40. Guard line = 0.6 × $114.40 = $68.64. Across the ranges: $1.73 to $534.45.
Range across the assumptions: $2 to $534.
Nothing in the $114.40 ceiling is a Nakie fact yet: the $143 order, 40% margin and one repeat order are my guesses. Week one swaps them for real orders and margins.
The ceiling is a range, not one number: the most a new customer can cost before shipping and packaging, which I do not have. Replace the guessed lines with yours and every figure below recalculates.
05 Test ramp
$24,000 of tests over six weeks, from 12 ads to 20
| Week | New ads × budget / ad (proposed) | Weekly test spend | Cumulative | Creators posting | CAC target (proposed) |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | 12 × $250 | $3,000 | $3,000 | 0 | $69 |
| 2 | 12 × $250 | $3,000 | $6,000 | 2 | $69 |
| 3 | 12–20 × $250 | $4,000 | $10,000 | 4 | $69 |
| 4 | 12–20 × $250 | $4,000 | $14,000 | 6 | $69 |
| 5 | 20 × $250 | $5,000 | $19,000 | 8 | $69 |
| 6 | 20 × $250 | $5,000 | $24,000 | 10 | $69 |
Six weeks, Proposed. Week 1 and week 2 run 12 ads each at $250, $3,000 a week. Week 3 and week 4 run 12–20 ads, $4,000 a week. Week 5 and week 6 run 20 ads, $5,000 a week. Total tests: $24,000, losers killed early.
The math. Week 1: 12 × $250 = $3,000; Week 2: 12 × $250 = $3,000; Week 3: 16 × $250 = $4,000; Week 4: 16 × $250 = $4,000; Week 5: 20 × $250 = $5,000; Week 6: 20 × $250 = $5,000. Total $24,000 (96 ads × $250). A range such as 12–20 counts as its midpoint.
Weeks one and two test what the brand already has, rewritten per reason to buy. From week three, creator videos enter paid only after they beat their own account median. A range of new ads counts as its midpoint in the spend column.
06 Volume
More concepts find more winners: 20 concepts to 80
Creative volume moves CAC because winners are rare. My guess: 20 concepts give 2 winners and $18,000 added; 80 concepts give 8 winners and $72,000. Hit rate and spend per winner are guesses, not Nakie data.
| Concepts tested / month | Hit rate (assumed) | New winners / month | Spend each winner holds (assumed) | Added spend at target CAC |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 20 | 10% | 2 | $300 / day | $18,000 / month |
| 40 | 10% | 4 | $300 / day | $36,000 / month |
| 60 | 10% | 6 | $300 / day | $54,000 / month |
| 80 | 10% | 8 | $300 / day | $72,000 / month |
The math. 20 concepts × 10% = 2 winners × $300 × 30 days = $18,000 a month; 40 concepts × 10% = 4 winners × $300 × 30 days = $36,000 a month; 60 concepts × 10% = 6 winners × $300 × 30 days = $54,000 a month; 80 concepts × 10% = 8 winners × $300 × 30 days = $72,000 a month.
The hit rate and the spend each winner holds are placeholders. The first thirty days of tests replace them with real numbers, and the table is recalculated the same day.
07 Allocation
Most of the $100,000 goes where the hooks already work
- New-concept tests on Meta
- $40,000
- 40%
- Scaling winners that hold CAC
- $30,000
- 30%
- Creator videos run as paid ads
- $20,000
- 20%
- Reserve for week-one replacements
- $10,000
- 10%
Shares of the $100,000 budget, Proposed; the split moves toward winners as soon as one holds $68.64.
The math. 40% × $100,000 = $40,000; 30% × $100,000 = $30,000; 20% × $100,000 = $20,000; 10% × $100,000 = $10,000. Sum 100% = $100,000.
This split is a proposal. It moves toward scaling as winners prove out, and toward testing when fatigue shows.
08 Channels
Meta first, then channels Nakie's catalogue can feed
| Channel | Open when (proposed) | Why wait |
|---|---|---|
| Meta | Week 1, with 12 ads live | Paid social is my home ground and tests fastest on chairs and blankets |
| TikTok | Once creator videos reach 28 a week | Creator cuts of the beach towel and hammock reuse as ads |
| Instagram Reels | When the first creators are live | Same videos, second placement, same $68.64 guard line |
| YouTube | After a winner holds $68.64 for a week | Longer camping and hammock set-up demos suit the format |
| Email and SMS | After purchase tracking is clean | Repeat orders carry the $114.40 ceiling, so they need their own flow |
A channel opens when its condition is true, not when the calendar says so. Until then the budget stays where the CAC is earned.
09 Payback
Payback decides: $70 CAC pays back after repeat orders
Payback is the real constraint because the ceiling counts one repeat order. At a $35 CAC the first order pays back and $79.40 is left. At $70 it pays back after repeat orders, $44.40 left. At $125 or $160 it never does: stop.
Cumulative margin per customer, order by order, before CAC: $57.20, $114.40.
| CAC (scenario) | First-order margin | Year-one margin | Left after CAC | Payback |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| $35 | $57.20 | $114.40 | $79.40 | First order |
| $70 | $57.20 | $114.40 | $44.40 | After repeat orders |
| $125 | $57.20 | $114.40 | −$10.60 | Never: stop |
| $160 | $57.20 | $114.40 | −$45.60 | Never: stop |
The math. CAC $35: $114.40 − $35 = $79.40 left; pays back: First order; CAC $70: $114.40 − $70 = $44.40 left; pays back: After repeat orders; CAC $125: $114.40 − $125 = −$10.60 left; pays back: Never: stop; CAC $160: $114.40 − $160 = −$45.60 left; pays back: Never: stop.
Read each row left to right: the margin of the first purchase, the margin over the whole horizon, what is left after CAC, and the purchase on which the CAC is earned back. A scenario that never pays back is a stop, not a test.
10 Scope
What I cover, and what stays with Nakie's team
Covers
- Meta ad concepts, testing and daily CAC reporting
- Creator briefs and a hook library for chairs, blankets and towels
- Landing page briefs for Nakie's bundles and combos
- A claims sheet for the recycled and temperature wording
Doesn’t
- Event tracking build: I spec it, your team implements it
- Store, shipping and fulfilment operations
- Product, pricing and licensing decisions
- Outdoor category expertise: I have none, so creators lead there
What this plan covers is what I can change inside the ad account and the creator program. Everything outside it is named on the right so nobody assumes it is handled.
Gates, written before spend, so stopping isn’t a negotiation.
| Day | Keep going if (proposed) | Stop or change if |
|---|---|---|
| Day 14 | At least one ad holds CAC under $68.64 across a full week of spend | No ad under the $114.40 ceiling after $6,000 of tests |
| Day 30 | Winners hold $68.64 as spend grows and eight creators are live by week five | CAC above $114.40 for seven days after spend rises |
| Day 60 | Cohorts show repeat orders arriving at the pace the $114.40 ceiling expects | Cohorts show no repeat orders, so payback never arrives |
| Day 90 | Spend at its highest level with CAC still at or under $68.64 | CAC over $114.40 and no new winner in the last test batch |
Each gate is checked on its day with the numbers in the daily and weekly reports. If the stop condition is true, the spend stops and nothing renews until we talk.
What exists, what’s missing, and the order that’s forced.
| Piece | Exists today | Missing | Forced order |
|---|---|---|---|
| creative | Chairs, blankets, towels and cooler cups in many colours | Tested hooks and ad concepts | 1st |
| creators | Site imagery of campers, beach and picnic days | Creators briefed and paid | 2nd |
| claims sheet | Recycled and 5 degrees C wording on product pages | One sheet every ad can cite | 1st |
| landing pages | Combos like Chair Couples Combo at 395.89 AUD | A page per ad concept | 2nd |
| reporting | Review counts shown, such as 107 Reviews | Daily CAC and cohort payback | Week 1 |
The order is forced on purpose: creative and creators come first because they are what moves CAC, and everything else waits for that data.

Month one is where it starts.
Week one: I read your orders and margins, replace my $143, 40% and one-repeat guesses, write the claims sheet, and launch 12 ads at $250 each, $3,000 of tests. Two creators start briefing. Losers are killed early.
